My only advice is TAKE YOUR TIME. Focus on enjoying blue mage instead of focusing on getting the card. Also if you're having a hard time with the fight just watch a guide. It will still be hard but it helps a lot

It took me 7 tries over 2 days to beat him. Used healer aether mimic & pom cure, and then exuviation, diamondback, eerie soundwave, and flying sardine were needed for mechanics. I used a combo of bristle + breath of magic to apply DOT and then tingle + goblin punch for dealing active damage. Make sure to keep your DOT up, especially in the second phase, because during the charybdis sections I had to focus so much on the mechanics that I wasn't actively dealing any damage. Mark your cardinal directions in phase 2 so you know where to stand before charybdis, and then put the gogo thunder puddles in those slots between the tornadoes so once he finishes casting gogo blizzard you can meet him in the pit in the middle for a big damage window. It took me a little over 11 minutes the time I beat him. You can do it!

25 spells you never use for this shit, Square Enix let the blue mage die and focus on the real game.

Mcdoogan 13th January, 2023 @ 04:06 pm

Yes, you have to level a BLU to 70, yes you have to do a solo boss challenge that is very unforgiving and yes, it is very time consuming.

being force to do a very hard near impossible blue mage fight for 1 card is bull crap, TT card and blue mage have nothing in common. i also HATE that SE is still forcing PvE players to do some form of PvP to Finish getting something, i HATE PvP why the fack do i have to win a PvP card tournament just to get 1 of the last cards i need?? trying to win against NPCS is very hard nevermind winning against 5+ players in a row, why cant PvE players just buy the same card for 1,000,000 mgp instead??

Alastair Dawnflare 16th April, 2022 @ 05:44 pm

That was a very fun fight once you get the hang of it.

mog666 6th February, 2022 @ 05:41 pm

wrong card, sorry...

mog666 6th February, 2022 @ 05:41 pm

5 runs in a row, unsynch.

Just to reiterate as there is some false information here. You only have to complete #31 Masked Carnival, not every single one.

solidwhetstone 11th October, 2021 @ 05:23 pm

This was actually a challenging fight. Don't underestimate phase 2. I took me 11 attempts at phase 2 to get the clear. Phase 1 is unfortunately just a damage grind so you'll spend the first 6-8 mins of every run just beating him down. All in all- I have to say I didn't like having to max out blu to get these cards, but once I had done it, I had some cool gear, a glowy relic weapon cane, and a solo dps job to pull out whenever I need it. Not bad.

100% agree with below commenter. Tried several times to beat it as a DPS, but you need to heal a lot and the second phase is all about MP management. Takes a bit longer, but safe strat as healer and pom cure. Beat it in my first go as healer very easily.

burgeoningflame 12th April, 2021 @ 03:24 pm

Just to clear up any confusing reports as I've seen in the comments: - This is purchasable from Latool Ja for 300 Allied Seals - You must complete the 31st Masked Carnivale duel with Gogo - You do NOT have to complete the entire Masked Carnivale to have this card be available, you just need to clear 31 Highly recommend learning mimic from Pharos Hard Mode (from 1st boss) and mimic a healer, take in pom cure/exuviation (req. for act 2 debuffs), diamondback, and eerie soundwave to make your life a lot easier. Can be cleared with minimal spells if you know what to do/learn on your feet. Don't even auto attack him during his mimic buff.

You get this quest after finishing the blu 70 quest A Future in Blue. After that, you can purchase the card from Latool Ja (across from Milvaneth Sacrarium) for 300 Allied Seals.

Anonymous Player 9th March, 2021 @ 08:04 am

Level BLU all the way to 70, then clear all 31 stages of Masked Carnivale to purchase this card for 300 Allied Seals. The seals aren't the problem. Took me ages but I finally cleared 31.

Baumkuchen 16th February, 2021 @ 10:00 am

Why do I have to do all this crap to complete my collection????

Magnus Brighton 12th February, 2021 @ 12:11 am

You're telling me I gotta level BLU to get this card? LAAAAAME.

Anonymous Player 7th February, 2021 @ 01:52 am

300 seals for this one

Styrgeim 3rd February, 2021 @ 09:32 pm

Same as the Martyn card, can be obtained from the Allied Seals vendor next to Martyn, but ONLY after you beat him in the Masked Carnivale.
