Kiuka stats: 79 matches (W:33/D:30/L:16) [202]:Hien => 1 Deck was Ysale, Hilda, Estinien, Alphinaud & Alisaie, Hydaelyn I've learned that the key to this one is to just focus on flipping whatever cards you can, and to try baiting him into leaving vulnerabilities by leaving your own. That's why I swapped Squall for Hydaelyn, and I ended up having a lot of luck forcing him into bad placements by slapping her in the middle as bait.

Whoever said they boosted card drop rates is a liar. Everyone who said this NPC is a voidsent is the most correct ever. Website tracker tells me I'm at 82 out of 120 NPCs beaten at TT, and I'm pretty sure I've spent less hours with those 82 combined than I did with this singular motherfucker.

A configuration like Bigdaddy's in the comments below really helped give more reliable wins. My variation on it: Raubahn & Pipin, Hancock, Lyna, Griffin, Magus Sisters. Got Hien's card on my 5th win after changing my deck to the above, out of 15 games (changed my deck after 10 games).

I though this NPC was impossible to beat almost, I find a win to have around 60-70% after after some defeat, but this chaos rule and 2x4* 2x*5* make that you still need to rely on luck, + low drop rate, courage to everyone trying it. Anyway, I had luck, got mine after 16 wins.

Just farmed this out today. This is one of those big "cheater" NPCs. Chaos makes this NPC really hard because his deck is so overwhelmingly powerful that his plays are generally all great. This is absolutely an NPC you save for after your deck is super strong already and you're going for completion collecting. The drop rate for Hien feels suspiciously low compared to other triad NPCs. When playing against him, I managed about a 70-75% win ratio and even playing at a solid speed, it took about 2 hours of farming to get. Expect to be here for a while, as others have said. At least Hien is one of the best cards in the game and he only has 1 card to farm out. So it's overall worth it if you can manage a solid win ratio and play speed. The deck I used is: Terra Branford, Anima, Seeker of Solitude, Coeurlregina, and Eros. You can swap Terra Branford for any 5 star with an A on at least one side and you should be fine. Anima can be replaced by Cid Garlond (double 9s).

Its Chaos so do not use a corner deck or defensive playstyle you'll lose. Only way to win Chaos is be aggressive. Try and cap every card even if it leaves yours exposed the AI isnt as smart as you think it is. You need a deck with a solid 3 sides on each card not just corner pieces and one card that is strong veritcally. Biggest key is patience you wont win every match its Chaos be patient it will come.

Farmed for it on and off since like 2017. Today it was 90 wins exactly before it dropped. I got pretty consistent wins with the following cards (in this order): Qitian Dasheng - Noctis Lucis Caelum - Arenvald Lentinus - Nero tol Scaeva - The Ruby Weapon I like using Qitian/Arenvald with the 8 pointing towards mid with two lower number sides exposed, to bait out a card while also letting me recapture. Don’t be afraid, as others commented, of leaving yourself open - this NPC makes some strange plays sometimes and could’ve won or drawn some games that I ended up winning due to really dumb card decisions on the NPC’s part. Hey all. Echoing another comment here that I have had the best luck with Ysayle, Rasho, Haurchefant, Asahi, and Terra. I'm well over 200wins and no luck yet but it's not for lack of success. When I do lose it's usually because chaos has so many potential patterns that predicting whether a move will pan out is basically impossible. As a general rule, try to stay ahead of him but be careful about exposing your backside too many times.

Wow, lots of hate for the devs, undeservedly so imo. This is actually not too difficult if you just stop playing basic corners decks - I ran Haurchefant, Charibert, Julyan Mandeville, Sadu, and Squall. Squall's your best 5-star since he's a corner who can capture Hien on both his weak sides. Since Kiuka's deck is loaded with ways to capture 8/8 corners, you mostly just want to load up on reasonable mid-range cards so you can be super aggressive and constantly capture whatever weak side he exposes. If you're on the play, and Chaos picks anything other than Squall, just dump the card in the middle to have something easy to capture later. Keep your eyes open for boxed out parts of the board you can throw a card in to keep it protected if you're playing with a lead. I wasn't keeping track of total wins, but I was winning about 70% of the time and it only took an hour or two.

This isn't triple triad right here, this is a slot machine dressed up as triple triad where the odds are strongly stacked against you. 2 five star and 2 four star cards with chaos rules. I used Ysayle/Rasho/Haurchefant/Ifrit/Terra Branford and was around 60%W/30%D/10%L by the end. This guy's cards are so good that your cards usually aren't safe unless they're fully locked in (or they only have As exposed). Play around Hien and Hraesvelgyr as much as you can. Terra Branford has excellent value; it's always safe to play in a BR corner and you often win a card in the process. Chaos is bullshit and sometimes you just lose because of it. Good luck!

This was my deck: Ysale, Asahi, Lyna, Griffin, Squall. It's a "four corners" deck. If you start the game, my best advice I have for playing against this NPC is to lead with a card in the middle that is strong on a corner. It's your sacrifice card and will be taken. Use Squall as you're ace to put in the upper right and play off it to protect the rest of your cards. Keep in mind he will have the twins and the dragon to always take your cards from the north. Play the middle at the start helps protect your cards from being double-taken by Lord Hien.

Got Hien after 10W/15D/7L. Someone had a bad day at work and designed this fight. Once I played more aggressive by throwing by taking any card he threw down even if it meant losing mine next turn I found myself winning more, but it is Chaos so it might've just been luck. Had each of the corner 8 cards and Noctis as my 5*.

14 wins, 10 draws, 8 losses. I cannot believe I got such luck and I don't expect others to replicate it. Definitely use Squall for your one 4/5 star card here, it'll help with a lot of the cards that can be played. Other than that, it's Chaos so there isn't too much else I can recommend other than playing top and left when possible.

633 wins... at approximately an 80% win rate. ***GFY SE & Yoshi P!!!*** [The Griffin][Estinien][Asahi sas Brutus][Warrior of Light][Lucia goe Junius] Play from the bottom, left or right. Start defensive. Once bottom row is established, judge if you should bait or not pending possible cards left. Play to your sweeping side when in doubt. This NPC's deck is weakest from the bottom, and right. Hopefully you have better luck than I did. This was a horrible experience.

Corner 8 (Esti, Ysayle, Lucia, Roundrox) with Squall was pretty effective. The idea is to not get greedy, just claim 1 red card and make sure any spots between your two blue cards are never open. Chances are they'll end up landing their last card surrounded by other red cards.

Word of advice: Squall is by far the best 5* card you can use against him, due to his ability to beat Hien from up and down. His deck has no A's on top so Squall is guaranteed a win in this direction too. The most successful deck I tried was corner 8 (Estinien, Ysayle, Lucia, Hilda) + Squall (5 wins in 6 games). With Onion Knight instead, I got 15 wins in 30 games, and with Midgarsormr, 13 wins in 30 games. I also tried a mixed deck with Ferdiad and Brachiosaur instead of Lucia and Ysayle but it wasn't that good, 10 wins in 30 games.

If anyone is struggling, the trick to this is to start with a dumb move that exposes your card's weaknesses, the AI isn't intelligent, so it won't try to defend itself when it grabs your card

To the SE employee that programmed this fight: Who hurt you? It's okay, you can tell us. That's the only explanation I can think of for having a ridiculous rule like Chaos (with no chance for a regional modifier like Reverse to make this any easier) against such a powerful deck AND an insanely low drop rate. 200+ wins, no drop yet, and I'm slowly giving up hope there ever will be one. This jerk may turn me into a conspiracy theorist: if I can't get it to drop, maybe it doesn't ever drop...

To show my devotion to Hien, I decided to embark on the quest to get this card... truly was it a trial that tested my limits. 3 days and 3 nights I went, game after game with a mediocre deck - my win rate was lower than 80%. At some point, the days started blending together and I soon lost count of how many games had been played... of how many hours had passed. I experienced many emotions during this time - rage, turmoil, hopelessness... but the thought of finally having the card in my possession was the best motivation I could have. And at long last, did my patience finally pay off. In the early hours of the third day, the card landed in my hand like a double AoE Balance Sleeve Draw. The feeling of intense peace and serenity washed over me and I could, at long last, rest. Also, fuck this cheating ass npc and his stupid chaos rule with stupid OP cards. I want to punch his ugly face.

Managed to come up with a solid deck that got me around 80% win rate, more or less: Bartz, Estinien, Lucia, Hilda and Genbu. Have flipping his Alphinaud & Alisaie card your top priority, sacrifice Bartz if you have to and the rest of the game should be easy as long as you know what you're doing. If he starts with Hraesvelgr on top left, sacrifice either Lucia or Hilda to flip it, have Bartz claim them back a couple turns later if you have the chance. Sacrifice Estinien to take out Matoya, otherwise always place him in the lower left. Genbu is the "last" resource card, use it to flip Hien from below, Minfilia from the right, or sacrifice it to flip Matoya (if Estinien isn't available). Be aggressive and try to flip his cards immediately if you can, if he flips yours afterwards you can claim your cards back and keep doing this until Bartz is available to win the game for you. Just pray that Bartz isn't your first card, or you'll have a tough time flipping his final cards in the end.

Hilda, Estinien, Lucia goe Junius, Phoebad, Alphinaud & Alisae. If you can't capture on your round, place the care as bait, unless you have to use Alph&Ali, in which case play it defensively. AI will usually play Hien up towards the top middle, so capture it when the opportunity arises. It still took quite a few tries. Good luck!

In seriousness, use this page to plan around which cards this rule-breaking demon has left to play. If Hien is left for sure, avoid giving him any left-right cards to take. If Hraesvelgr is left, avoid leaving open spots on top of your cards, and be wary of cards with open spots to the left and below. If the twins are left, do your best to get them in an upper-left position, away from your cards. If you're looking at one of the three ladies and you can crunch numbers quickly, test your options and go with whatever place on the board has the lowest chance of getting taken. Force them to the right if possible.

Another mistake by Square Enix in TT. He cheats, since most of his cards are superior to yours. The chaos rule makes it hard for you to have any strategy. And the drop rate is terrible. Played 150 minutes, won 76 games and finally got a Hien drop.
