The key to this battle is manipulating the AI into such a spot where it is tempted to flip over one of your easily revertable cards with a five/four stared card. From there, it should be relatively possible to exploit Isobe's weaknesses from there and result in a six/seven-card win.

I got the Ango a long time ago, fought him today with regional rules ascension and built a scion deck to get a free ride from his Louisoix for a trainride to the top. Somehow that was dumb enough to work (I had just done something similar with the NPC in Namai with a Garlean deck). I got just one ango before getting the Hisui and Kurenai after... 7D, 4L, 10W, so not saying it's all that consistent, but it is possible. I'm also DOGSHIT at plus fwiw

W:7/D:1/L:4 best deck i found to use was |Hildibrand & Nashu|Cid Garlond|Roundrox|Hermes|Eros| Use plus to your advantage. A good lot of Isobe's cards have an equal top and bottom, making it easy to use plus with Hildibrand and Hisui. Hermes can most likely be replaced as I used that card the least. rat bastard. 0/10 npc. agony.

This dude was so frustrating because I could just barely manage to win, usually only if I got lucky. I sat and played him for 90 minutes yesterday and only won twice. I looked up some tips today and managed to get super lucky, after 5L and only 1W he dropped the Hisui and Kurenai card, I'm so relieved I could almost cry!

I had Ascension for my regional rules so it was very easy to win consecutively on a pure Primal deck ;; Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Moggle Mog XII + Zurvan for the 5 star. At the end of it, almost all of the sides end up being +10 so it's also super easy to do Plus flips on whatever gets captured at the end ^^

Easiest way is to play him on Reverse days. This guy has a lot of cards with horizontal and/or vertical symmetry, so the standard 8/8s-in-corners deck strat will fail a lot. I subbed in cards that can cover a 2 or 3 point difference in various corners (Griffin, Haurchefant, pretty much anything with a 1 and 5-8s on the remaining sides) and had more success that way.

18 Ango in inventory so far (so 19 in total), around 200 victories, and still no sign of Hisui or Kurenai. :( I already hated Stormblood when I had to face Kikimo but this, this is definitly worst. I really hope SE did not do that again in Shadowbringer.

I took a day off work to battle this Otter. Total duel time: about 7hrs? Started to lose my mind. It took me well over 250+ wins to get the Hisui & Kurenai card. Inventory has 37 Ango cards.

The way I keep track of wins is I copy the text from my event tab, paste it into a spreadsheet, and then parse it however I like. For example, I just had 30 wins, 5 draws, and 2 loses. I got 3 Ango cards. Now I have a stuffed otter that I'm going to tie to my bumper before I go for a drive.
